Did you notice that the photograph above is Butterfly wings? Why use this pic to begin the conversation about Native Americans and how we have so much more to gain by partnering with them than trying to exterminate them? This collection of butterflies is one very observant man's work. He was aware enough to notice that one butterfly had what looked like a letter on her wings, then another and another. It ended up being a lifelong pursuit to collect the entire alphabet and even the numbers. The reason I chose this pic it that this is a rare quality in the individual today - to notice and respect nature in such a loving way. We need more people like him.
Long, long ago, most people who lived in what today is The United States of America, all lived with this beautiful sensitivity and respect for their natural sourrondings. They lived in harmony with nature and never took more than they needed, nor failed to give something in return for those physical blessings - be it a tobacco offering, a prayer or ceremony.
In order for you to begin to understand this cultural reference which was in harmony with nature, we must first address a few concepts about the Native Americans' life that you never learned about in school or saw from a Hollywood film. . .You will also learn about great contributions which they have give us as well as some history that is sure to make you cry. For it is so deep and dark, it will shock you. The initial cultural concepts that I will focus on first are:
WARRIORS HOME FAMILY EDUCATION CONFLICT RESOLUTION CONTRIBUTIONS TO AMERICA
WARRIORS:
When Natives speak about warriors, they are decidedly NOT talking about the warring, blood thirsty types that may come to your mind.
THIS is what the heart of an Indian Warrior is made of . . . .

Sacred Warrior's Vow
The vow of every warrior
Who ever rode the plains
To protect the children
Forever will remain.
Those hearts full of courage
Promised to defend
The Elders and Life Givers,
Until the bitter end.
Those times were a memerory until 1973
and then once more in 2016,
To many a bygone day.
But a new Sun is dawning
Upon the Warrior's Way.
The peaceful Warriors awaken,
Their hearts hear the cry,
Their eyes embrace the vision,
Found in Brother Eagle's eye.
They rise from every Nation,
Ready to claim the right,
To stand as men of courage,
The defenders of the light.

PROTECT THE ELDERS, THE CHILDREN & GIVERS OF LIFE (Women) . Who among you would not want this, I ask.
Wouldn't you expect a culture who places its elders, women & children in the highest value, to know something about decision making for the long term? Furthermore, how could they accomplish that cycle of life at all without being respectful of the Earth?
More in a moment about being respectful of the Earth.
It will take some time I know, to plant the seed which grows into a different picture of the ideal Warrior.
The more you think about it, the more it helps to realize it.
But there is something else . . .
This is a peaceful Warrior. Beware not to mistake kindness for weakness. Peace is NOT passive.
More soon. this is a work in progress . . . .
