Musical Instrument & Equipment Donations

The Gift of Music program will as a normal course of activities seek out old, abandon & unused musical instruments as well as accept donations of musical instruments and associated equipment of all types to be used by students and program participants who cannot afford their own. The instruments acquired by the Institute will be reconditioned and given a new life – a second wind, so to speak.

Music Lessons

Gift of Music students – from absolute beginner to seasoned musician, all will enjoy learning how to play from the unique and very approachable style that Mike McNulty, of Pulling Strings, brings to us.  Aside from the regular and expedited method we use to teach students how to play, The Gift of Music also offers several specialized advanced courses of instruction.

Abandoned Instrument Infirmary

The Abandon Instrument Infirmary is our own in-house hospital to re-condition donated musical instruments and put them back into service for students unable to purchase their own.

Music Industry Apprenticeships

A very special component of the Gift of Music program – Apprenticeships are created for students interested in the craft & special trade of building and repairing musical instruments or in the support side of the music industry with training for recording, video production, music production or marketing musical talent. This is a workforce development effort and participants will receive a certificate of qualification upon completion.

World Music Workshops & Seminars

Focus on Blues, Folk, Celtic, Country, Classical, Jazz, Roma and more. A musical exploration of world music.

Abandoned Instrument Orchestra

The Abandon Instrument Orchestra is a musical group consisting of the Gift of Music students, teachers and visiting musicians that play real gigs for the public. They currently are playing gigs in Prague approximately two times per month.
